THE HYPE THEORY Announce UK & Japanese Tour
Hailing from Chelmsford, Essex, THE HYPE THEORY have played some of the biggest UK festivals including Download, T in the Park, Underage, Hevy and Sonisphere.
They formed in the summer of 2010 after lead vocalist Katy Jackson and Guitarist Sean Bishop spent a year of writing together at college. The line up was completed with Josh Coombes on drums, Jack Divey on bass and Tom Harrison on Guitar.
In December 2010 the band hit the studio with Matt O’Grady (You Me At Six, Deaf Havana) to record their debut album, titled ‘Glory Days‘. These recordings drew the attention of many record labels, but the band decided to sign with Small Town Records in the Spring of 2011.
The release of the THE HYPE THEORY’s debut album, ‘Glory Days‘, in Japan in May this year, was met with such ardor that huge demand for the live show ensued, prompting the booking of the following dates:
15/09 – Club Drop, Osaka
16/09 – Club 3Star, Nagoya
17/09 – Club Asia, Tokyo
The band then return to the UK to head out on the Stop, Drop, Rock! tour with Summerlin, Chick Rides Artist and Alone Tonight. Dates are:

28/10 – Kings College SU, London
29/10 – B2, Norwich
30/10 – Dry Bar, Manchester
31/10 – Space Bar, Newcastle
01/11 – Cathouse, Glasgow
02/11 – Vintage Rock Bar, Doncaster
