Release Date: 18th June 2012
‘Legends‘ is the debut full length album from Dirt Box Disco, who are a noisy talented garage punk rock band from the Midlands. Rocking along with a good mixture of styles from short sharp 100 mile hour songs a la Ramones as in ‘Rock n Rolla’ and ‘Smackhead’ to shout along anthems such as ‘Lets Get Wasted’ and something in-between like ‘The Other Side Of The Street‘.
The bands sound, although not original is still an excellent mix of various punk styles which keeps the album fresh and lively. Most of the songs are sing-along cracking anthems with early Green Day influences in ‘I Don’t Wanna Go Out With You’ mixing well with a classic English 70s punk sound as with the last song ‘Dirt Box Days’.
Surprisingly through these 13 tracks they also offer slower gentler moments with some great riffage and melody. They look like an enthusiastically entertaining live band in the mould of Turbonegro, with catchy as hell songs you’ll be singing along to days after hearing them, this is a recommended fun album.
