Following the success of 2013, Aces High Festival returns to The Doghouse in Nottingham for round two! The Indoor festival will start on Saturday the 4th October for two days, with festival organisers choosing the cream of the Underground Rock and Metal scene to provide a stellar line up. This is a weekend YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS!
The Doghouse is fast becoming a venue of choice in Nottingham for touring Rock, Punk and Metal acts such as Morning Glory, The Rezillos, Mad Sin, GBH and Electric Eel Shock.
There will appearances from the Hell On High Heelz Dancing duo, who have had the pleasure of gracing the stage with such acts as Bad Manners, The 69 Eyes and performed at a host of Major UK festivals. Saturday 4th October
There will be two bands; Faith In Violence and Texas Flood opening up the proceedings on Saturday 4th October that were chosen from over a thousand entries in a competition run by Reverbnation.com.
Faith In Violence are a hard rock band based in Leeds. Formed in 2013 their first single, ‘You Made Your Bed (Now Lie In It)’, was received extremely well by fans in the UK and the US and received a great deal of airplay. Texas Flood hail from Neath in Wales and have been creating quite a stir on the UK rock scene. Chosen because of their powerful sound, Texas flood have toured relentlessly through 2014. Playing with such bands as Alabama 3 and the release of their debut album “Young Dogs, Old Tricks” shows that these guys are just at the start of their successful journey! Black Star Bullet were recently signed to TBFM records and it’s no surprise with their tight hard hitting rock sound. The guys are based In Coventry, and are no strangers to hard work and touring the UK; having had extensive radio airplay in 2014. Hot Money are well known in the Derbyshire area for their high octane shows! Due to the band being on a hiatus for most of 2013 after a legendary performance at Pentrich Rock and Blues Festival they are back with a vengeance; (guitarist Josh was serving in Afghanistan) . Bad Touch blend rhythmic heavy rock with funky blues and bring their energetic stage show to the Aces High Festival to round off a successful festival season. Performances at Download, Steelhouse, LesFest and many more have made for a busy summer for the Norwich based band ; sandwiched between two UK tours in support of great Swedish rock bands Bonafide and The Electric Boys. 2014 has also seen the band take to the Hard Rock Hell Stage in Pwhelli and travel to Ibiza for the HRH Road Trip in May. Their progressive rock /Groove rock style is refreshing in the mist of other rock bands. With Stella reviews of their music from the likes of Kerrang, Classic Rock and Live Nation to name a few it’s hard not to be tempted to check them out. Naked Sunday have gone from strength to strength in 2014, having started the year appearing in Big Cheese Magazine, BBC Airplay and raving reviews of the single “Rockstar”. Singer Martin Stanyer penned the UK 16 Chart hit” Hope Aint a BadThing” which all three members have appeared on. As well as Martin and Laura opening up V Festival on the main stage and playing with Lawson at T Live. Next band up are Rock outfit Outcry. Singer James Norvel appeared on BBC’s “The Voice” in 2014, chosen to be mentored by Will I Am; due to his unique and powerful vocal style. Since forming in October 2012, Nottingham Horror Punk Outfit Headstone Horrors, have gone from strength to strength. Headstone horrors recorded their eagerly awaited 2 track demo, featuring all original tracks ‘Midnight Massacre’ and ‘Broken Hearts and Body Parts’ in February 2013 and have just released their 4 track EP ‘Like the Morgue’ April 2014. Headstone Horrors have been tearing up the stage up and down the country with a slot at the prestigious Rebellion Punk Festival in Blackpool this year! Midnight Dogs state they are to bring the Rock N Roll, and that’s no understatement.
