This CD fairly rocks along from start to finish, with plenty of piano, ‘heys’, ‘whooo whoo’s’ and even an organ on ’Detroit’. Maybe if the New York Dolls had reformed ten years earlier this is what they would have sounded like.
On first listens it reminded me of a more guitar driven Rocky Horror Show musical extravaganza. These are songs about debauchery sex, drugs and rock n roll, what’s good for your heart is good for your soul, cocky swaggering feel good party music. That is apart from the haunting ‘Cindy Says’, which shows a different lighter side to the band.
Flash Bastard are a bit of a mystery, apparently signed by Nikki Sixx Americoma/BMG label, I wonder what to believe of the stories about the bands activities. But this is a mighty fine album that is supposedly ten years old, having been shelved by the record label and now remastered.
