Breaking Bands Festival’s 3 headline acts for 2016 were announced on Friday 22nd May during the VIP night of this years outing: REIGN OF FURY, EVIL MASQUERADE and BLAZE BAYLEY.
Organiser Jason McGuire also announced that the festival will be held once again at Stoke Prior Sports and Social Club in Bromsgrove on the late May Bank Holiday weekend in 2016, Friday 27th – Sunday 29th May.
The Breaking Bands Festival team are very pleased to reveal that Midlands based thrashers REIGN OF FURY will be headlining the VIP night on Friday 27th May 2016! With a big reputation for hard work and a polished on stage performance, REIGN OF FURY combine old school thrash with a modern drive to create hook laden music that people love, remember and talk about.
Since the release of their highly acclaimed debut album ‘World Detonation‘, the band have been invited to play Bloodstock Open Air, hosted two annual Headbangers Balls charity UK tours, supported Hatebreed, M.O.D, Lawnmower Deth and Onslaught as well as completing an extensive UK tour featuring no less than 10 small festivals. The band comments:
“Breaking Bands Festival is an event that combines real industry know how with a genuine passion for new music. We jumped at the chance to headline in 2016, and can’t wait to be part of what looks to be real stayer in the festival landscape.”

The team are also very excited to announce an exclusive first ever UK appearance for Scandinavian heavy metal act, EVIL MASQUERADE who will be performing the headline slot on Saturday 28th May!
The award-winning EVIL MASQUERADE was formed in Copenhagen in 2003 by Swedish born guitarist, composer and producer Henrik Flyman. Henrik decided to try out a few new songs with a constellation of hand-picked local musicians which soon evolved into an album release and it didn’t take long before the music had spread to the corners of the world. The band have played many shows in Sweden, Denmark, The Netherlands, Belgium and beyond, but have yet to play a show in the UK. The Breaking Bands Festival team cannot wait to host the bands first show on UK soil!
Henrik looks forward to next years show:
“I’m really happy to announce that Evil Masquerade is invited to headline the Breaking Bands Festival 2016. This will be our first show ever in the UK. You can look forward to old, recent and brand new material. I’m looking forward to meet you all. Cheers.”

Finally, it was revealed that the Special Guest Headliner of the weekend in 2016 would be none other than the amazingly talented BLAZE BAYLEY! Like BREED 77 in 2015, BLAZE BAYLEY will be performing the guest headline slot on the Sunday night to close the festival. This slot is for those bands and artists that have already progressed onto performing at major events and a shining example of the level that the weekends supporting bands would like to reach.
Birmingham-born BLAZE BAYLEY started his professional music career as lead vocalist of Wolfsbane in 1984. They released 4 studio albums and one live album together. When Bruce Dickinson left Iron Maiden in 1993, Blaze was chosen from over 1000 singers as his replacement. BLAZE BAYLEY recorded two full albums with Iron Maiden, ‘The X Factor’ in 1995, and ‘Virtual XI’ in 1998. He also features on Maidens “Best of the Beast” album where he was the co-writer of a new song named Virus. In February 1999, when Iron Maiden announced that vocalist Bruce Dickinson was returning to the band, BLAZE started his solo career. In 2013 the singer presented Manchester-based band ABSOLVA (Chris Appleton: guitars, Karl Schramm: bass and Martin McNee: drums) as the new live band for European gigs. Breaking Bands Festival team are extremely honoured that BLAZE BAYLEY will be performing at their second outing in 2016.
