With just 7 weeks until Breaking Bands Festival and such a big line up of bands, it was always likely that a band or two may pull out for one reason or another. Sadly two bands have had to pull: Skarthia and The Goddamn Electric who were both playing the Sunday of the festival have good reasons for having to pull from the festival. However, the organisers have worked fast to cover the two bands with equally fantastic replacements.
Replacing Skarthia is the superb progressive metal band from Exeter, CAMBION:
CAMBION have been making a name for themselves in the metal world since forming in 2009. They have played up and down the Uk and a couple of times in Europe, sharing stages with the likes of Scar Symmetry, Circle of Contempt, Evile, Sacred Mother tongue, Breed 77, toured with Chris Jericho’s band, Fozzy, and many more! CAMBION have had the pleasure of playing some great festivals such as Bloodstock in 2012 and 2014, Tech fest in Peterborough and Euroblast Fest in Cologne Germany alongside acts such as Meshuggah, Monuments, Skyharbour, Dead letter Circus, Uneven Structure and many more.
Having had two tracks featured on Metal Hammer’s cover mount cd, the last being a track off their current ep, “virus”, they likened their sound to “MESHUGGAH AND FEAR FACTORY AT WAR IN SPACE!” They also won best up and coming act at The Southwest music awards in 2011.
Replacing The Goddamn Electric are the fantastic DEFY ALL REASON, a heavy rock band from Wrexham:
DEFY ALL REASON bring big riffs, hard hitting drums, melodic story telling and good ole’ fashioned rock n roll to the ears of the astute music fan. True to their word, they produce a unique style and sound to what can only be described as hard, southern rock with a heavy groove. DEFY ALL REASON show great depth in their writing ability and constantly push the boundaries with their energetic, fast paced live performances.
After receiving critical acclaim for their debut EP ‘Every Second Counts’ and rave reviews for their energetic and diverse live shows, DEFY ALL REASON are always ready to leave their blood sweat and tears on the stages of venues and festivals across the country. 2015 will see the release of the bands debut album and promises to be an even bigger and better year for the hard rockin’ 4 piece.
Tickets are currently on sale for the festival which takes place at Stoke Prior Sports & Country Club in Bromsgove 22-24th May 2015 priced £12.50 per day or £25 for a weekend including camping and access to VIP party night on Friday 22 May.
