Influential Black Country rock band DIAMOND HEAD have been announced as Sunday headliners for the Soldiers Off The Street Big Weekender festival next May.
The event, which is being held over May Day weekend, will feature 25 of the very best of the Midlands rock and metal bands including The Whiskey Syndicate, who are re-uniting just for this event, Martyr De Mona, Voodoo Sioux, Daylight Robbery, Valous and Fury.
Technical Manager at Twisted Ninja Promotions Event, Lee Wilson, himself ex-army, explains that over 300 bands applied for the chance to appear at the event, and it was a difficult job to whittle the number down to just 25.
‘The quality of the bands applying has been outstanding, but even more amazing is that all of the bands, even Diamond Head, are giving their time for free; the venue are not charging, the sound technician is doing it for nothing, the sound equipment and drums are being supplied for free by SASS in Ironbridge, the printing is gratis….everyone has been so generous, and it’s all for such a good cause. Soldiers Off The Street is a charity that shouldn’t exist because our ex-military should not be allowed to left to suffer as they have, but as long as it does exist, we need to do what we can to help out where we can’.
The Soldiers Off The Street Big Weekender will be held at The Haygate, Wellington on April 29th and 30th, and May 1st 2016, weekend tickets available from wegottickets.com/events/33480 from October 1st.
TBFM are extremely proud to be a media partner for this event supporting a great charity.
