Its very rare that we post news about bands splitting up but this news came to us while 2 of the bands biggest fans were live on TBFM last night. Emotions ran high as Katie & Stevi Roxx were left lost for words at the news that North West rock band Exit State called time on their services to music after 9 very amazing years.
Here is what the band had to say…
“It is with the deepest amount of sadness and regret that we announce that we have unfortunately come to the end of our journey as Exit State.
The band feels that it has taken the project as far as it can go in the current climate and, following a few beers, some reminiscing and lots of laughs, have hugged it out and called it a day.
We want to thank EVERYONE that has supported Exit State over the last 9yrs – there simply are too many people to mention outright and we would only end up forgetting someone and feeling terrible about it. You all know who you are and we love each and every one of you.
We would also like to King Prawn Records and Rocksector Records for putting our music out there into the big wide world, and not to mention a huge thanks to our management team at Rocksector, without whom, many of the people we have met and opportunities we have encountered would not have been possible.
Fear not people, this isn’t the end of the journey for the guys. They will be spreading their own personal messages from their own personal pages soon enough and indeed, fresh and exciting new projects will undoubtedly be revealed over the forthcoming months.
We will make an announcement in a few days time regarding the remaining shows booked for the band however, we do intend to have one almighty rip roaring send off show at The Sanctuary Rock Bar in Burnley, a little later this year, so stay tuned for that.
So that’s it guys, thank you very much one and all – you all rock and we will see you out there for a boowze.”
Roy, Peat, Phil & Matt
We have enjoyed many years with this fantastic band, not just for their music but their genuine friendship and therefore we finish this news article with a special video memory for the lads. This is an exclusive song that was recorded at Hard Rock Hell a few years ago, early hours of the morning after partying all night. Stevi, Katie, Mucka and Scarlett can be heard singing along to Roy’s epic version of ‘My Way’ which we felt was a fitting tribute to Exit State.
R.I.P. EXIT STATE.
