In 1973 a band was formed that would become one of the biggest rock bands in history. The band was co-founded by young Welshman, Dave Evans who was the lead singer when the band started out. The band was known as AC/DC. Dave was only with the band for just over a year but helped with some of the music that made the band so well known and well loved all over the world. Dave was replaced as the lead singer by another awesome singer, the late Bon Scott and the rest is history!
40 years later and Dave is still going strong, entertaining crowds all over the world. He has his badasses bands in so many countries around the world and when he comes to the UK it is always a special occasion for him. Backed by Chris Appleton’s band Absolva, Dave is on his second UK tour in 2 years and this year has 12 gigs including his only Midlands gig, at the TBFM Birthday Bash location, Queens Hall in Nuneaton.
Dave will be gracing the stage and playing some of his favourite AC/DC tracks as well as his own songs from his Judgement Day album and will rock the stage on Friday 12th July. Its a special one for TBFM as we will be there running the stage and air guitaring all night long with many staff and crew in toe!
Supporting Dave will be the awesome Black Star Bullet and Rocky Shade’s Wildside Riot, both bands sure to make an impact!
We ‘can’ also reveal (pun will become clear) that on stage we will have a very special guest. A while ago we came across a news article about a can of AC/DC beer which has been touring the world, just like the band. This can has been sent all over the place from fan to fan, band to band to see the world and be photographed in some very awesome places. To date this can has been to 16 countries including many parts of Europe, USA, Australia, South Korea and South America. Click here to see the can’s journey.
The idea of the can was set up by Christian “Spurki” Spurk and kicked off in Davos Platz, Switzerland, the highest city in Europe. At the moment the can has traveled more than 120,000 km! Click here to join the Facebook group to watch the epic journey as the plans for the can include trips to Sri Lanka, Japan, Hungary, China, Columbia and also more trips around USA and Australia.
TBFM is about to take delivery for this can which will be arriving in England for the first time on the tour so we are very proud to be bringing this very special guest to the Nuneaton gig. Anyone coming along will get the chance to have their photo taken with the can and Dave of course!
If you want to come along to the gig on 12th July, its not too late to get your tickets. Online price is £8 (+booking fee) or pay on the door price is £10. Click here to purchase online.
Mucka Jay caught up with Dave in 2012 at the AC/DC convention in Blackpool and had a very open and honest chat with him. Talking about the truth behind the band starting up, why Dave left the band, Bon Scott and life after AC/DC. Hear it here…
