Well this is what it has all come down to, the big prizes!
Starting out September 2013 with 367 bands registering over the next few months then we get down to the final 10 bands. TBFM Factor is now closed for another year and it has been amazing start to finish.
We have seen bands hook up with bands for gigs, bands selling tons of music and merchandise, bands being asked to play festivals as a direct result of being part of TBFM Factor and most importantly the bands music has been spread further than ever before.
The final was broadcast live 1st June at 5pm UK time and these are the final official results…
DEATH APE DISCO 672
STAND WITH HERETICS 230
BAD TOUCH 187
BALEFUL CREED 151
Hinckley band Resin, although finishing in 10th place, were the chosen band from the organisers of Alt-Fest to be invited to play on the TBFM sponsored SOPHIE stage at their event this year. Talking to guitarist and shirty showman Simon Yarwood as the announcement was made he said he was over the moon with his initial reaction being that the call was a wind up.
When we got to the end of the show and the part where we called the winners Death Ape Disco, the band were a little on the excited side to say the least. Kit Brice, the bands guitarist said he was overwhelmed and almost speechless as we had to tell him several times that the band had won the competition.
Kit went on to thank all the supporters of Death Ape Disco for their continued support during the competition and said that he was just amazed that they even got to the final. The rest of the band didn’t even know that they had been entered into the competition initially and they knew Kit had put them forward they had hoped to get as far as the semi finals.
Speaking to Todd Severin, CEO of Ripple Music about the results he said “After a great competition that showcased quite a few Top-Notch bands, Rpple Music is thrilled to welcome TBFM Factor winner, Death Ape Disco to the Ripple Family. Ripple Music built its reputation by releasing some of the heaviest, kick ass jams out there, and Death Ape Disco certainly fits right in with that! We’ve known of these guys for a while now and know that they’re starting to make a pretty good buzz. Hopefully, we’ll be able to help them spread their unique brand of heaviness to a world-wide audience, so that the rest of the world can see what the TBFM judges and voting fans already know–these guys kick some serous ass!”
