Welcome to our first blog style newsletter (only taken us 5 years to get round to it haha!). The first Monday of each month we will be bringing a round up of what’s been happening at TBFM HQ and news of what’s to come. We will be introducing new shows, new staff and plans of festival attendances as well as anything else that might pop up.
Lets kick off by introducing some of the new members of the TBFM family. Sunday was the debut show for our newest DJ Bazzer who will be around every Sunday 2pm-4pm with his show ‘Earth Calling’ which is based around the space rock music. A great way to chill on a Sunday afternoon.
We also saw Giles recently join TBFM’s airwaves on Tuesdays 2-5pm. A bit of a fanboy when it comes to The Quireboys but a fantastic DJ. The Metal Mosh Pit returned with Gary but on a new show day of Wednesday’s 2-5pm. Also a warm welcome back to Rockgodz who has been out of action for a while but also back to full fitness on Sundays 11am-2pm.
We have m0re DJ’s joining our very busy schedule over the next few weeks so keep an eye out for the updates. Another return back to TBFM is Jon Seymour who was part of TBFM for 3 years and now back in a very important admin role as our Press Officer and Head of Reviews.
Along with the new shows mentioned above will be our very popular auto jukebox with a regular 11am-2pm slot Monday to Friday with specific shows including a female fronted show, a covers only show, and even a decades show. All automated to keep the music flowing. Another new show that starts this week is ‘Cyborg Sam’s Weekly top 10. More about that below…
NEW WEEKLY CHART SHOW:
With TBFM’s all new sophisticated servers and a month of them being stable we are ready to launch the TBFM 10. A weekly show with our friend Cyborg Sam who will count down the top 10 unsigned/independent bands based on popularity and to be aired every Thursday 4-5pm just before the Independence [THURS]DAY show. The chart will be based on statistics on our server from not just how many times a track has been played but also, to how many people. These stats are done for us and count up to midnight on the Wednesday and then the show goes out live on Thursdays starting this week.
NEW MOBILE APPS + TUNEIN BACK ONLINE
We had a lot of issues with the Tunein app over the past month after moving our servers but they have finally pressed the right buttons and fixed it all again (hooray!). Not only that but our server guys have been developing our new personalised apps for Android and iPhone. The Android version is ready on Google Play (just search TBFM) and the iPhone app will be launching in the next few days. TBFM photographer Neil Reed has also been helping to develop a Windows phone version of the app too. This is now online and ready to download to your phone so you can catch TBFM in more places than ever.
OUT AND ABOUT:
Catch the TBFM crew at festivals and gigs up and down the country this month including at Bloodstock, Halt-Fest, Beermageddon and Degeneration Festival. If you see any of the staff, stop them and say hello and maybe even record a live jingle for the station. If you’re in a band, see if they will do an interview too!
That’s it for now! Thanks for reading the first edition of our blog monthly newsletter.
