Its that time of the month where we at TBFM like to show how we are doing with listeners/visitors and traffic to the website network.
We will be closing down our website offer of advertising for £15 for a text link and £25 for a graphic link and logo on January 31st 2014. It will then be time to put our prices up, especially when you see the following pictures.
Alexa.com is a traffic ranking service in the public domain. It ranks websites Globally as well as in their main country of origin. The rankings are based on traffic to the website as well as the content posted. We have been climbing the ranks on Alexa for a long time and although they are only based on people who use the Alexa Toolbar to search the net, it is still a fair reflection of millions of website users.
So we are extremely proud to announce that TBFM amongst ALL the main rock and metal stations that we could find listed in the UK are now NUMBER ONE. We are above ALL commercial stations for UK rank including Kerrang, Planet Rock, Team Rock Radio and Real Radio XS… all of whom have countless pots of money to spend on advertising and promotion.
This is not a public display of slagging other radio stations off, this is us at TBFM… a small but growing independent radio station with over 70 staff and still no budget to spend just wanting to say how proud we are of what has been achieved in 4 1/2 years.
The one stat that we are even more proud of is the time spent online. People spend an average of 26 minutes on the TBFM website compared to less than 2 minutes on Planet Rock. This says a lot about our visitors and that is something we have worked hard to keep going with. We have visitors from a total of 162 countries with our top 5 being UK, USA, Brazil, Canada and Italy. We have averaged over 100,000 hits a day in January 2014 so far. The big increase is a lot to do with our association with festivals such as Winterfest and Alt-Fest as well as the TBFM Factor competition which is bringing us thousands of brand new visitors daily.
Going back just 18 months there was dark times at TBFM when we had threats of closure due to trademark legalities. All of our websites, social networks and emails were striped from us without any notice. We picked ourselves up and pushed forward with even more determination from that day. Today we reached 7,700 Facebook likes for our main page, the number we reached just as our Facebook page was taken offline and we were told to start again after 3 years of hard work.
We are pushing even more during 2014 and have seen an increase in visitors to the website network which is a lot more than just a radio station. We have a live chatroom with people from all over the world joining us via mobile and pc’s and now with the added bonus of our latest staff Banrock and DJ Dom we are streaming live to Second Life and Club Zero to spread the TBFM music further afield.
We have also increased the station music quality with our new cloud server bringing us up to 128kb/s audio streaming for a more crisp and clear sound. Add to this the 8 brand new shows that we have recently added and we are at a station high of 36 live DJ shows per week.
We will keep going with TBFM through the hard times and the good times but 2014 with what we have in store, is going to be our best year yet and with the station hitting 5 years old this May, its really something we can all be proud of.
