So much has been going on at Breaking Bands Festival HQ over the past month so rather than so many individual press releases, here is a summary!
Tickets Running Low!
The festival tickets have now run down to just 25 as announced 2 days ago (probably less now). The festival organisers are urging folk not to leave it too late like last year when around 30 people emailed asking for tickets after the sold out sign went up. When these are gone, that’s the lot. There is no on the gate entry without a valid ticket.
Merchandise On Sale.
The traditional festival hoodie and t-shirt is on pre-order sale with £5 off both the tees (currently £10) and the hoodies (currently £20) until 2nd April. They have the full logo branding on the front and the line up on the back. Grab them from the website quick!
Guest Ale For Charity:
Paul Bielby, the recently retired Reign of Fury bass player has offered to have his head shaved to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The festival has offered the stage for him on the Friday night, just before Reign Of Fury headline the festival. The venue in association with Marston’s Brewery have offered a guest ale with 10% of the profits going toward Paul’s fundraising. You can name the ale by going to http://www.breakingbandsfestival.com/guestale
Swapping and Changing of Bands -
With all multi-band line-ups you are always bound to get a few bands pulling out. Breaking Bands Festival has fell casualty to 2 very good bands, both putting their band careers on hiatus. Crashgate recently announced a long term break and then we heard news that Mad Hatter 2.0 are no longer due to ill health of singer Marc Cleave.
Cadence Noir, a Neuvo acoustic goth band from Nottingham have stepped up to fill the boots of Mad Hatter 2.0 and with Crashgate pulling from the festival, it was decided to let Blaze Bayley go on stage a little earlier so he can then celebrate his Birthday with a party band at the end of the night. Worcester covers band Parkin Lot will now close out the festival and they are letting the public decide on what songs they will play on the night.
Acoustic Stage Line-Up Completed:
Once again the Get Your Rock Out acoustic tent is back and the line-up is fantastic. Saturday sees Ian Bourne and Resin return alongside Cadence Noir, Left For Red and Jesus Hooligan headlining. Sunday sees a return for Ben & Christina as well as A Tower Of Crows, both very popular last year. Joining them will be Crowsaw, Bedhed and Chris Appleton doing a headline set.
And Finally… Next Year:
With this years festival set to sell out in the next few days and everything else in place, the team have started on next years event. The date has been booked and confirmed as Friday 26th to Sunday 28th May 2017 (camping until Monday 29th May). At this years event it has been announced that 50 golden tickets will be on sale at just £20 each for the full weekend including camping again. These will only be on sale at the festival and then a normal early bird price will be set for ticket purchasing online.
Festival organiser Mucka Jay said “there is even more being planned for next year and this year isn’t even started yet. We promise more amazing bands, bigger surprises and something very special to be announced very soon”.
