Coventry’s own Superhooch release The Viscous E.P, a trip of material ranging from punk, classic rock and even a little bit of funk in there. Its fun music, but without compromising the integrity of the tunes. Each member of Superhooch shines right through each one of the songs. The Mike Patton-esque vocals of Johnny Worsley to the sometimes subtle, sometimes not Sabbath like guitar riffs of Chris Worsley and Johnny Kingam, there’s no one member dominating.
There seems to be no rules apart from writing the catchiest melodys possible. From the constantly changing ‘Tamed‘, to the fantastically titled ‘The Wit Of Staircase‘, you’ll find yourself torn between hitting repeat or the next song. ‘Neon Shine‘ will be in your head for weeks afterwards. It’s dirty rock n roll, but Superhooch showcase an excellent display of songwriting that would go side by side amongst todays Queens Of The Stone Age and Clutch. The kind of music thats cool to play to your friends, but the kind of tunes even your mum would love.
