The SOS team are absolutely delighted to present the latest additions to their 2016 line-up: CRIMES OF PASSION, CONTROL THE STORM, GANG, DENDERA & DIGGETH.
CRIMES OF PASSION hail from the industrial heartland city of Sheffield. Since their inception in 2005 they’ve developed into a world class melodic-metal band. According to some, a crime of passion is often referred to as “temporary insanity”, which could well describe these musicians who are nevertheless dedicated to making a name for themselves by taking on a work schedule that is usually meant for internationally established acts.
CONTROL THE STORM, including bassist Becky Baldwin of SOS favourites TRIAXIS, are a UK-based melodic metal band, offering unforgettable melodies, an astounding double assault of dual guitars, atmospheric keys and the hard hitting rhythm that modern metalheads crave. Watch out world, there’s a storm brewing!
GANG hail from France, formed in the 1990s influenced by bands such Saxon, early Riot, Judas Priest and some typical British touches with twin guitars parts à la Iron Maiden & Tokyo Blade. A pure heavy metal machine fury, the band makes a very welcome return to SOS Festival, having played in 2014 and charming the audience with their music of course but also a fun and charismatic approach.
DENDERA are a UK-based metal band, one of the best emerging artists around, combining classic metal with an aggressive modern edge. They’re developing a fine pedigree, having toured with and/or supported an impressive list of headliners: Saxon, UFO, Fozzy, Skindred, Firewind, Alestorm, Unearth, The Sword, Orange Goblin, Grand Magus, Ill Nino, POD, Gloryhammer, Soulfly & Kobra and the Lotus.
DIGGETH originate from a specific eastern part of the Netherlands, ‘as east as you can go’ and this part of the country is known as ‘The corner’, known for agriculture and a simple way of living. In this setting these musicians learned rock-n-roll, blues, hard rock and heavy metal. Influenced by Metallica, AC/DC, Johnny Cash, Lynyrd Skyryrd & Down, they have shared stages with Michael Schenker, Exodus, Sacred Reich, Slayer, Megadeth, The Texas Hippie Coalition & more.
These bands join BABYLON FIRE, THE IDOL DEAD, LORD VOLTURE & AONIA who were the first announced during this years’ SOS Festival.
SOS is an annual 3-day, 2-stage, indoor rock and metal festival and 2016 will be the 9th such event.
