JOHN SLOMAN, former frontman with Lone Star & Uriah Heep, has been confirmed to headline the Metal Nation Radio Acoustic Stage on the Saturday at SOS Festival in 2016. Sloman fronted Lone Star during its’ 1970’s days of great promise including a stunning session for the BBC, before the band ultimately folded after guitarist Paul Chapman left to replace Michael Schenker in UFO. Sloman went on to a distinguished career working with Uriah Heep, Gary Moore, Jools Holland, Todd Rundgren, Belinda Carlisle, John Sykes & Neil Murray, amongst others. He also contributed vocals for the movie ‘Highlander – The Source’ and even re-recorded some of the Queen songs from the original ‘Highlander’ film.
Also announced for Saturday are Leicester-based rockers HELL’S ADDICTION, purveying a no-nonsense approach inspired by the likes of AC/DC, Motley Crue, Guns n Roses & Skid Row. Hell’s Addiction will be gracing the Dean Hocking (main) Stage.
The headliner for the Dean Hocking (main) Stage on the Sunday at SOS has also been announced as KNOCK OUT KAINE, originally hailed as KERRANG’S Best New Unsigned Band and going on to tour Europe with Adler’s Appetite, have played Download Festival and played as special guests to the mighty Status Quo. They released their first album ‘House of Sins‘ through German label DOTT Music before joining Rocksector Records to release the stunning follow-up ‘Rise of the Electric Jester‘ in March this year. They were undoubtedly one of the absolute highlights from SOS in 2015 so with great pleasure we welcome them back as headliners.
Main support slot on the Dean Hocking Stage on the Sunday goes to the ever more popular MASSIVE WAGONS who’ve spent the past couple of years supporting their fantastic album ‘Fight The System‘, whilst we also welcome BIGFOOT to the same stage. Bigfoot have established themselves as one of the very best young rock acts to emerge during the past couple of years.
SOS is an annual 3-day, 2-stage, indoor rock and metal festival and 2016 will be the 9th such event.
