UNDERCOVER FESTIVAL IV - a 2 day festival of alternative music including Punk / Ska / Dub / Reggae / Alt / Acoustic + so much more.
Undercover Festival today announced DREADZONE as the headline act for Saturday 10th September at Brighton Racecourse.
“We are really pleased to be able to welcome Dreadzone who headlined our very first night on our very first festival back to Undercover Festival as our headline act on Sat 10th Sept 2016” said Festival Organiser Mick Moriarty.
Saturdays line up of Dreadzone, Sonic Boom Six, Spear of Destiny, Eddie & The Hotrods, XSLF (X Stiff Little Fingers), Radical Dance Faction, Spizzenergi, Anti Pasti, The Cravats, Witchdoktors, 1919, Pussycat & The Dirty Johnsons, Dragster, Church of Eon, Piranhas 4, Pints, Mick O’Toole, Rage DC, Emergency Bitter, Knock Off, Skaciety, Vikki Vortex & The *** S***s, R.E.D, Archive45, Punka, plus many other bands including a host of cracking emerging local bands and so much more over three stages is shaping up to be the strongest Saturday line up ever at Undercover.
With Fridays line up as well including The Selecter, Peter & The Test Tube Babies, 999, Chelsea, Sex Pistols Experience, The JB Conspiracy, Department S, Menace, The Meow Meows, Criminal Mind, Riskee & The Ridicule, Tree House Fire, Charred Hearts, and many more on the line-up over the weekend, we believe we have most bases covered.
This year’s Undercover Festival has moved to Brighton Racecourse and is once again held undercover i.e. not outdoors so if it’s peeing down come September it’s not a problem and your beer won’t get diluted. Leave your wellies at home, and enjoy one of the best small alternative festivals the South has to offer this September.
The festival is one that prides itself on taking an independent and grassroots approach to things, and is always determined to be different from mainstream events. As the name suggests, it’s an indoor event but with two days of alternative action from bands you’d be highly unlikely to see on many other festival line-ups.
Mick Moriarty said: “We believe the usual run-of-the-mill festivals tend to book bands that in the main are broadly similar – and way too safe! We try for a line up and experience that is something different and appeals to a crowd not catered for elsewhere. Being a small independent grassroots festival is tough because media attention is always on the big boys. But we’ve got through to our fourth year and we’re going strong because what we have created really has struck a chord with people who like their music raw and full of the passion and energy that only acts like ours generate.”
The festival grew out of a small tent tucked in the back corner of the sadly departed GuilFest in Surrey and has now become a firm fixture in many people’s diaries, with dedicated fans coming back year on year.
UNDERCOVER FESTIVAL set in and around the unique setting of Brighton Racecourse, a festival venue and experience that defies all other conventions and festival templates. The nature of the venue ensures that everything is nearby; no long walks between stages, parking is free, and camping is available literally a short one minute walk from the festival proper.
In a financial climate where it always seems to be about the money, Undercover throws convention to the wind and just goes with what it believes in. There is a huge line up and tickets can be bought in advance online of from various locations details from www.undercoverfest.com
